Lumière Lodge is Old Hobart Town reimagined - a classic Victorian cottage restored with care and character. Just five minutes from the heart of Hobart, the house sits within easy reach of Tasmania’s pristine coastlines, alpine landscapes, and cultural life - from quiet galleries and markets to some of the country’s most compelling food and wine - before returning you to stillness at day’s end.
Many guests find themselves settling into the rhythm of the cottage - lingering over breakfast, exploring Hobart and its surrounds by day, and returning in the evening to cook, read, or simply be.
Guests are welcomed with a selection of locally sourced provisions - from artisanal breads, pastries and preserves to a thoughtfully curated wine collection - each chosen to reflect Tasmanian craft and seasonality.

While it’s tempting to wander out for a quick coffee or bite, the charm of this grand home often beckons you to stay in - to cook, to linger, to simply be. As evening descends, chandeliers shimmer, wall sconces glow, and antique oil paintings cast a timeless gaze over a space designed for conviviality. The traditional English kitchen is fully equipped with chef’s knives, an induction stovetop, full steam oven, and combination microwave - ready for anything from a simple supper to a culinary adventure.
Lumière Lodge is a home brimming with colour, character, and quiet enchantment. Watch the seasons whisper through antique windows, sip whisky by the fire, or slip into the clawfoot bath beneath the dappled light of stained glass.
